How do I reserve my event date?

To reserve your date, we require a signed Venue Rental Agreement and a 25% non-refundable retainer. Once both are received, your event date is officially reserved.

Is my payment refundable?

Your 25% retainer is non-refundable because we reserve the venue exclusively for your event and turn away other inquiries for that date.

If you need to reschedule, we'll do our best to accommodate your request based on availability.

When is the remaining balance due?

The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event.

Any add-on services or final guest count adjustments must also be finalized at that time.

What happens if it rains?

The Cypress Weather Promise

Because Cypress Events is an outdoor venue, every event includes one complimentary backup rain date, reserved at the time of booking. If severe weather prevents your celebration from taking place, we'll move your event to your reserved rain date at no additional venue charge. It's just one more way we make planning an outdoor event simple and stress-free.

How is the backup rain date selected?

When booking your event, we'll work together to choose a second available date that serves as your rain date.

That date will be held exclusively for you until your event.

What if it rains on my backup date too?

We'll work with you to reschedule your event to the next mutually available date whenever possible.

What if there is only a brief shower?

Our premium event tent provides coverage for most passing showers.

If weather conditions are safe, events will continue as planned.

How many guests can Cypress Events accommodate?

Up to 30 guests for seated events.

Up to 75 guests for cocktail-style receptions using high-top tables.

What should my guests wear?

Cypress Events is an outdoor garden venue with a natural grass lawn. For your comfort, we recommend wearing flats, wedges, or block heels rather than stilettos, which may sink into the grass.

What are the music options?

We provide background music through the venue’s speaker system, with the overall style and vibe selected by the client in advance. Due to permitting restrictions, DJs and live bands are not permitted. A solo guitarist may be arranged for an additional fee, subject to availability and venue approval.

Do you offer bartending?

Yes.

We offer bartender packages as well as bar setup options.

Can you help with food?

Absolutely.

We offer catering packages through vetted vendors, charcuterie displays, and coffee service through Lower Coast Coffee.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Yes! You're welcome to provide your own beer and wine for your event. If you'd like to serve cocktails or liquor, we'd be happy to connect you with one of our preferred bartending partners to ensure everything is served safely and professionally.

Can I bring my own caterer?

At Cypress Events, we've taken the guesswork out of planning by partnering with a selection of exceptional local caterers. Rather than bringing your own caterer, you'll choose from our trusted preferred vendors, each known for outstanding food, professional service, and beautiful presentation.

Can I decorate?

Yes!

You're welcome to personalize the space.

We simply ask that decorations do not damage the venue.

Do you have parking?

We do not have private parking, however parking along Magazine Street is free after 7pm M-Sat and free on Sundays. 

Is the venue private?

Yes.

When you reserve Cypress Events, the venue is exclusively yours for the duration of your rental.

Can I schedule a tour?

Absolutely.

We'd love to show you around.

Tours are available by appointment.

Policies

Are candles allowed?

Battery-operated candles are welcome.

Open flames must be approved in advance.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the venue. Attendees can however walk out to Magazine Street to smoke. 

Are pets allowed?

While we love animals, pets are not permitted at Cypress Events to help ensure the comfort of all guests and to maintain the beauty of our venue. We appreciate your understanding.
